Hungry Monday: Venison Cornbread Pie

Ok this is one of those recipes that is really good after a long day in a cold stand


VENISON FILLING
1 Lb. Ground Venison
1 Lg Onion chopped
2 Tomatoes Diced 
1 Can Whole Kernel Corn 
1 Red Bell Pepper Chopped 
1 Green  Bell Pepper Chopped 
1 Tsp Chili Powder 
1 Tsp Salt 
1 Tsp Steak Sauce 
1 Cup Beef Stock 

CORNBREAD 
follow the directions on a box of jiffy cornbread mix, I also like to add about a half cup of creamed corn to the mix.

COOKING DIRECTIONS 
1. Heat Oven to 400F
2. Brown Venison in a skillet with a little peanut oil 
3. Add onions cook until they turn translucent 
4. Add Bell Peppers 
5. Add Tomatoes 
6. Add Corn 
7. Add Beef Stock 
8.  Add dry ingredients
9. Cook for 5 minutes 
10. Pour this filling out of the pan and into a baking dish
11. Pour corn bread mix over the meat filling
12. Bake for 20-25 minutes 


This is some really good stuff I like it spicy with some Louisiana Hot Sauce, but because LSU beat my Tide this weekend I am gonna suggest you go with Dunk's Real Thang. You can get this great sauce at
